We’ve had a new dog for about 4 months now. She’s pretty good about staying out of the GRR most of the time.
But about once a month she’ll get in and dig.
So I’m thinking about the invisable fence. Anybody using one ? Is it keeping the dogs where they’re supposed to be?

cayenne pepper
Both of my stepson’s use it for their dogs and it works pretty good, though one has a dog that seems to “enjoy” getting the shock - continues to run right through the “deterrent” zone
Ask Roosters wife. She uses it to keep rooster out of her flower beds.
Try the shock collars. Everytime the dog goes in give it a beap then a shock. After a little bit all you need to use is the beap and then eventually nothing. It worked well with my Britt.
We’re using the training collars on Sophie and Greta, and its working about 75% of the time, and getting better.
The neighbor had an invisible fence. The dog would breech the fence then not want to run back on her side.
David Hill said:That's what concerns me. A dog trapped on the GRR might do some serious damage. I may try it first on the perimeter of the yard. Do the training where it will do no damage.

Thanks to everyone for the input so far.

It works if you spend a few days training the dog or dogs. We had one put in about 20 years ago. Once the dogs get used to it and learn their boundaries, they never ventured to near it. Of course you have to remember to take the collar off when they have to cross it to go with you somewhere in the car.
After about a year, the fence could be off and the dogs never ventured near it. And we didn’t do the whole yard perimeter. About 30’ in front and the perimeter of the back yard.
Very Timely subject…my 6mo old Brittany, Josh, is driving me MAD! Considering one of the larger units to keep him on the farm, maybe fence about 4 acres for him to play in, and keep him outta the road…I’d hate to stumble onto a $400 pancake, and have to explain that to the kids!
Any name brands that work best for any of you? There is one that claims 25 acre coverage, on amazon for about $219 free ship-name slips me and the connection is so bad I can’t get it to load!..wait a min:

the price has gone down~!
Really miss chatting with you guys, I’m hoping for a better link to the net in a few weeks, we’ll see!
Ralph, is your avatar taken in Spartanburg beside the Auditorium?
Cale,
Good to hear from you.
That is the north end of the tunnel by the auditorium.
