Large Scale Central

Invading Denray's Railroad

Went out to see DenRay’s railroad yesterday where we were greeted by a beautiful little girl.

Odd how she always stands on her side that way. Perhaps you should have her looked at.

She soon ran off to do something else.

Dennis himself, avoids looking at cameras.

Rather like Yuske, who is also known as “Sullysan.”

Dennis runs highly detailed and weathered logging trains.

He builds these mountains out of screen wire and “Type S” mortar mix.

But, being more experienced than I, he does not use his bare hands to shape the mortar.

Or his bare feet.

I love all the little details he has scattered around. You can look for hours and not find everything.

He makes all these little signs with a laser cutter.

I think he has a thread here on building this huge mill. I didn’t get all sides photographed. It’s overwhelming.

“Mashville” is a big feature at the top of a mesa.

I imagine he uses his laser cutter to make the curtains and blinds too.

He makes many of his buildings of steel and covers them with Magic Sculpt epoxy clay

It was a cold, windy day and when it was time to sit still for the meeting, I got rather froze. Was Ok if I sat facing the sun, but people accused me of falling asleep. Just resting eyelids.

I’ve also been accused of having worn pants rather than bibs. Shocking accusation indeed! It must have been the shoes that confused them. Was too cold even for ME to be barefoot.

And some ninny posted this in the wrong section.

Now that’s one great railroad. Thanks Tom for posting.

Superb! That mill is really something. I wish Cape Cod had some mountains I really like the look of those buildings hanging on the edges.
Dennis’s rock work and stone buildings are really amazing.
Thanks for posting these.

Good stuff!

That one shot really reminds me of Easter Island

Thanks Tom for posting the pic’s. I had planned to go up but it was on the same weekend as the NWA club meeting that I had to attend.

Thanks for posting Tom. This fellow’s railroad is spectacular. Hmm, Tulsa’s not really that far from Taos, will be coming to the scheulded convention. I like Tulsa.

Wow Tom what a great post, I need to try to visit that GRR

Dennis

Dennis, did you see your PM?

Thank you for the compliments
Dennis

Thanks for posting all these amazing pictures, Tom. I’m glad there’s a fellow large scaler out there for you to play with…

What a great railroad! I love that huge mill, it’s amazing!

Love the Mashville station and it’s occupants.

I have seen some of the builds. So I enjoy seeing the structures in place with scenery. Thanks for the picture post Tom, and the nice layout Dennis
