The little town where I used to live with my x and kids was nicnamed “pinhook.” I always thought this must be some sewing device till I heard the story of a hilarious train accident one summer day where a car rolled slowly through the town by itself due to a missing pinhook.
My admittedly not very deep research hasn’t found any railroad part called a pinhook, but only lots of places called that.
