Click here for video of a boy’s first trip alone to Uncle Ray’s ranch out in Cal-i-for-ni-ay.
Type “trains” into the search engine at the top and select “moving images” from the pull down menu for some other films. Sorry, but the search engine doesn’t filter out non-railroad films, i.e. “Johny trains to become a paratrooper,” or some such ilk.
It’s a slow Sunday afternoon, here in Deer Park!
Go build a model…!!
yessir!
Neat video but that site is annoying. Keeps interrupting the video stream to download updates to the animated advertising.
That’s interesting, Jon. I did not have the same experience. All I got was the video.
What I meant was the video would stop for a split second while the ad updated. You did get the ads on teh side, no?
Could be my connection, but I doubt it.
Yes, I had the stuff on the side, but no blurp, burp or interruption of any type of the video.
Jon’s probably got a crappy feed. I have the same problems at times here. They sell you this plan with mega speed…but
I won’t argue, except to say that last night when I tested it I was getting very close to 4 MBps. A crappy route, perhaps. More likely I got a different ad that was a bandwidth hog on the sending side.
EDIT: I tried again and did not get the animated ad. The video feed was nice and smooth. Geeze, poor Bobby got stuck in a roomette with a smoker. Reminds me of riding in the family car with two adults smoking and the windows closed. No wonder I was addicted to nicotine and started smoking on my own when I was 11.
Jon
Sometimes the speed issue relates to whether you’re using ADSL or cable. If you’re on the latter, you may notice the phenomenon Jon describes at peak periods, when cable use for TV as well as web access can cause a noticeable slowdown.
As a generalisation, go cable if you want cable TV, otherwise go ADSL on the best plan you can afford. As with all generalisations, though, the exception is often the rule. Much depends on your ISP, where you live and, most important, cost of service.
