This shows the counties that went more Republican in 2008 than they did in 2004. Only 22% of counties went more Republican. Interesting to see where they are

The link is to dailykos, which got the chart from the Ny Times, so you can start dismissing it right away if you like, although it appears to give an objective display of the actual numbers
