Industrial Locomotive ("Critter") scratch build 1.28 scale

This is an approximately 1:28 scale model of the smaller industrial locomotive commonly found at mines, forestry operations, steel mills, and shipyards. The smaller ones of this type were often referred to as Critters. I used materials leftover from other builds and other items from around the house. There were a couple of areas I could have improved on, but overall, I was quite pleased with the result. I did put together a 12-page PDF build log outlining all the build steps in detail for those who are interested, including a record of all my bloopers!

What a great looking critter, I love it!

Thats a nice model, whats the drive block ?

From his PDF, it appears to be a stationary model.

Yes, it’s a static model, just for display. In fact, the wheels don’t even turn.

Your critter looks great, just standing still. Another beautiful model, Carl!

Carl, This sounds like it could be a classic Wiki page!

Yeah, it’s gotten very very very difficult to power anything scratchbuilt with the dirth of parts/motor blocks available today.
