I went to go see this new documentary about the Apollo program this weekend…WOW what a great movie.

This was an amazing movie to see. The visuals consist entirely of NASA archive footage, much of which has been in cold storage (literally, in liquid nitrogen) and is only now being transferred to HD Digital. The interviews with the surviving Apollo Moonmen carries the movie along, only Armstrong does not participate, which a terrible shame as his perspective is always missing at critical points. Armstong has remained reclusive, valueing his privacy over the spotlight. However I can only hope that he has kept some sort of memoirs so that his memeories and perspective of the event do not eventually die with him.
There was some incredible never seen before footage giving the events an amazing perspective, it carries you along to the moon and back. The filmmakers had 10,000 hours of archival footage to chose from. I can only wonder at what else is hidden in those archives. As for the idiots who say we never went to the moon, as one astronaut says “If we faked it, why did we fake it 9 TIMES!?..”
Check this film out, its in limited release and will eventually be shown on the Discovery Channel, but it well worth looking for it on the big screen.
