In the interests of harmony

It is nothing mysterious, no incantations or blood oaths, simply a lifetime subscription to an excellent magazine on a subject we enjoy. I don’t have a clue what the NMRA offers.

Some of us leave bigger wakes than others.

OK let me ask this, what is the difference between a life membership in the NRA and the NMRA? Hardly any, it takes a "special" type for both. ;) :D
There's an "M" in the NMRA...;)

Y’all should read up on ther lead singer Alexei Sayle here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0768488/

If’n you want to read further about some serious satire on corrupt politicians go here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099698/ and read about his role.

Alexei is about as Bolshie as you can get.

Garrett, I’m afraid that you make me admit that I’m getting old. I so wanted that video to be funny, but it wasn’t. I feel like my Grandpa.

Don’t worry Ric. It just wasn’t funny.

The show is a bit dated…early 1980s. Also over your head if you are not a DM owner or fan…a shoe shared by hippies, workers, cops and skinheads. Me? Have worn them for two decades…

As far as not funny, I fell out of my chair watching it when I saw Rik Mayall’s facial expression. But then I find mst UK humor funny. There are exceptions, I never really got Benny Hill?

I could never quite Get Benny Hill either, even though I am a Brit. But then I don't like slapstick in general. Rick Mayall has had some great comedy roles.

I’ve worn Doc Marten’s for about 10 years. It didn’t help with the humor, even when I put a pair on and watched it again.

You'd get a real kick out of the Howard and Dickie slapstick routine. Dickie is doing stand-alone over on the "other" site.

I loved Benny Hill and Monty Python. But that was about 35 years ago. I’m not sure how much I would enjoy it now.
Monty Python did a Julia Childs skit that was hilarious.

But that video was annoying to me.

Well your post gave me a laugh.

Not a Young Ones fan I guess?

Maybe try this clip from the episode “Bambi”. Maybe railway content will help?

Even how the American Federal Reserve handles its internal financial matters has a direct effect on the world economy, so the election of a new president will have far more reaching effects. Until China assumes the role (or Russia resurrects its superpower status by 'encouraging' neighbouring 'free' states back into the fold), American politics will impact on the lives of all citizens of this world, not just those who have a say in who actually gets the job.

Maybe next time around someone will have the wisdom to not elect a gun-toting ex-beauty queen to prop up an ailing possible president. I must admit that I unfortunately believe that Americans are not yet ready for a black president and would prefer to go the safe route and elect a sick, dying president and a beauty queen vice-president who cannot even control her own household, let alone the fate of the world. One piece of gratifying news that is at least ‘President’ McCain will have nothing to do with neo-cons. One must consider the very real possibility that this ‘young’ governor from Alaska probably knows less about world politics than George Dubya did, even after winning his second nomination and could quite conceivably attain office by default. Are the ex-Hillary votes that important that the state of the nation boils down to conning the voters who want a woman in the oval office at all costs?

Tim take your left wing BS and go to ‘OffTopic’ please. I am getting real tired of the Lefts BS, Maybe the Govenor should use the Teddy Kenndy mothod to take care of her domistic problem. It worked for him! Maybe when Mother Russia come to power you should move there since they are such a great system!

E. Paul,

I’ve got Timmy figured out. He likes to post stuff here and there to see what kind of “rise” he will get from the rest of us. It doesn’t really matter the topic.

Don’t feed the trolls!

Oh, I’ll feed the Troll but he will not like what he gets to eat!

VIVIAN - YOU COMPLETE BAST*RD!!! One of my favorite shows of all time  Whats wrong with Benny? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIoZM1OQGzs&feature=related

Paul,
why don’t you take your off topic responses off topic as well. The ‘General’ section is for things, ‘general’!!! Amazing that when one has a counter view to the state of the world then it must be left wing BS. No wonder half the world has counter views to American imperialism and responds in kind. Go back to your trains, as is your normal response, when you post on topics that you have no feeling for. A comment was made that the views of foreigners is as important as those who are domestics. I responded to that ‘invitation’. Maybe read all the topic responses before picking up on individual items.

Stevie,
If you want to call me ‘Timmy’ then I will call you Stevie (but you are no Wonder).

Gee, Tim, did I finally get under your skin? :D

No one has called me Stevie since my Mom last did when I was 8 or 9. But if it makes you happy, go for it.

I enjoy sparring with you. It keeps me alert.

Nothing wrong with Benny Hill. I just don't like that sort of humour.

For that matter I didn’t really like “The Young Ones” either.

However I do like some of the other series the stars of the TYO’s were in.
