Muse! I say to thee, bite upon this…

Enough inspiration, er… inserrection, here to fuel a some sort of fire…or at least a witchburning or two… better hide out before the angry mobs with the pitchforks from the Scale Police find out which rock I’m hidden under…

WEll,

Bart is modelling in 7/8th. isn´t he? A silver G- scale muse will not really help him up the horse.
but maybe these people : http://www.7-8ths.info/Galleries/layout.html Britts of course.

Somebody mentioned along this forum On30 as large scale for the winter. I´d prefer Gn15, at least I could use some of my figures and car models. 1 : 48 is too fiddly for my age group.

But 7/8th is large scale for grown ups. You can not buy very much readymade from the shelf. You have to do it yourself.

Vic, I like that Silver Bullet! The wheelbase looks really wicked!

Thanks, its my large scale interpretaion of the small scaler McCabe Speeder offered from BTS (Bill’s Train Shop) http://www.btsrr.com/bts8280.htm In particular after this pic:

I knew the second I saw the add in the Gazette that I just HAD TO HAVE ONE! Its based on a Scientific Toys boxcar, and an HLW Mack drive brick so it runs like a dream and will easily pull a few cars along with it. I had it out at the BTS in 2005 running on the Door Hollow Shortline and it got a nice reception from the crowd. Of course that could have been due to the train crew…

Well Folks, I think, Bart asked for inspiration for his modelling. Not for private comments about private small scale modelling. When Victor introduced his lovely models in MLS weeks ago, Mr. Mueller did not comment there. Tomorow is Halloween, a mainly North American tradition, probalbly pinched from the Celts, but sweeping back to Old Europe now for years. It s Party Time tomrrow. The Kraehwinkel witches and the Magic Hamster are getting ready to go.

Ask you local witches to bring back some inspiration and lot´s of Muses kisses. Or simply Love Potion # 9 from Poison Ivy. Have Fun Juergen Zirner

Vic, Thanks for the “prototype” picture! Yes, with a bit of imagination one can scale things up and down from 1:13 to 1:32. And it isn’t so outlandish - there is some of that stuff out there; some even call it models! - that everyone has absolute fits of laughter. Mind you the crew is half way there.   That’s one thing that is a bit harder when modeling a real life proto.

Hi,

have a look at the links: http://www.m1zu13.de/

That would be ME that mentioned On30 as the Winter Large Scale. I work in 7/8 scale and in On30, I also build starships in 1:2500 scale. I appreciate fine modeling whereever its found , no scale/gauge/genre snobbery here! Lots of folks need to relax and enjoy life the way FR Fred does…its waaaay to short to dwell on the trivial…its a HOBBY fer cryin outloud!

Well Bart, this particular model IS offered in now On30, I beleive I saw it advertized in the Gazette for On30 and now S scale, but of course you’re looking for something to scratchbuild, well a Bachmann ON30 boxcar and an MDC centercab critter might make for a nice speeder project

Nice work! Ah, just who is that train crew…I remember the characters, but not the name. How tall are they? I might need something like them myself.

Hi,

Wallace & Gromit http://www.wallaceandgromit.com/fla/wg.html

Bart only mentions his 7/8th trains in his profile. Narrow Gauge O on 16 mm track is quite popular in Germany as well. I think, they model in 1 : 45 over here, but since there is not too much offered comercially, lots of thinks have to homemade. Peco offers some great track for this scale.

“Get off me cheese, Grommit!”

Good Morning NA,

Check this fellows site: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/beat/non/loco/loco0e.html

Seems to be some hardcore modelling. And he´s only in business for 10 years.

I think I’ve just been inspired!! A ride on layout in the space of a G guage layout. And according to the site, a lot of the stuff is made out of PAPER! The oval on the porch is less than 7’ diameter and you can ride on it!! I’m impressed to say the least.

Hmmmmm…

Warren

erm

Well ,Rod , that’s totally inspired me . Details , man , more details . Feed the crab .
