In-ko-pah Railroad -- new pics!

I’ve posted a few new photos of our In-ko-pah Railroad. Unfortunately, I was so busy during the open house that I forgot to take any photos of the event!

The first photo shows the engineer I made by modifying a Railroad Avenue “Wayne” figure:

Or go here to see the entire album:

The second photo was taken from the roof of our house. The last time I took a photo from up there, I still had not completed the cliffs at the rear of the layout, nor installed the concrete viaduct, canyon, etc. So there’s a lot of progress in this new photo.

Next are a couple pics of a train on the layout, crossing bridges, going through tunnels. Last is a rather blurry shot of my scratchbuilt ore bin. I’ll replace that later with a sharper pic, but this one will have to do for now.

Ray, that’s looking just great. The vertical rock work is just fabulous…though it makes my back hurt to think of moving all that rock. Your vertical rock work reminds me of John Allen’s Gore & Dephetid RR…which is probably one of the most famous HO layouts ever.

Hi Ray,

Very nice!

Now comes the HJ question: How many tons of rock did you move?

I looked at rock the other day on my “Search for ballast” travels, it will all need to be small enough to fit on a dolly. Too old for anything bigger than that.

BTW I like that tunnel access, too. Sure beats the fishing rod method!

A vision comes to mind of a devotee of Isaak Walton sitting over a tunnel ventilation shaft, rod in hand ...

Thanks! As a matter of fact, John Allen's work has been a source of inspiration for me as a modeler, ever since I was a teen.

I'm "guestimating" about 20 tons.

So you slimmed Wayne’s body, eh? Let me know if you ever come to Perth - I need all the help I can get!

Ray

What a Beautiful Sight (and site!).

It looks better every time you post!

I will again say…I think you should be prepping for an article in GR!

Keep up the great work!
