I'm Back (Finally)

Had to get a new computer two weeks ago. My previous one was so old that it wouldn’t load Windows 11! Tried to sign back on here, but the site refused to recognize me (probably something to do with the new machine’s IP address). Don’t know anyone’s email address here, so couldn’t write for help. Finally figured out how to get back in and update my password. Now using the same one I use at the N&W Historical Society’s archive. Whew! what a mess.!

Glad to be back, David Meashey

Welcome back Dave! :innocent:

Glad you have returned, i always enjoy your posts

Same thing happened to me and for 3 days in a row and one day about 3 or 4 changes in password until I wrote it down ! D’oh!!!

All set up, Dave? If you’re like me, you’ll spend the next 5 or 6 months discovering what else is missing on the new 'puter…

I also had to get a new laptop because of the Win 11 “upgrade.”

Same here. With a new one, I realize how slow the old one was, and I got a lot of disconnects and time outs.

Glad to see you back posting again Dave.

I refuse to give Microsoft any more money. I’m still running Windows 10 with no issues (or updates). I do have good anti-virus software.

If it comes down to Windows no longer working for me, I’ll migrate to Linux.

My oldest of two computers is pretty slow, but works for what I need. I bought some fresh heat conducting paste to re-seat the CPU cooler and will give the interior a good cleaning. Maybe I’ll add some RAM too if I can get it. Right now any time I ask it to do more than idle, the fans kick int to high speed.

My main PC is about 6 years old. Not a speed demon, but works for me.
