If you hit the Jackpot?

I would share it with my children and good friends.
Iā€™m ready to winā€¦

I decreased my odds by a very small bit, I kept my $1.

First I would tell no one I won.
Set up a trust to collect the money.
Then I think I would do alittle work on the railroad. Maybe get some pro to come help me st it up and do the grunt work
Fix up the fire trucks really nice
build a garage and a train building.
I hate having to drag the trains in and out by hand.
go back to school and finish getting my masters that I would like to get.
retire.

Unfortunately that's impossible. One of the rules of all lotteries is that you will allow your name and likeness to be used for promotional purposes. The trust fund deal might work if the people who run it for you are willing to take a lot of heat. Refer to the "group of investors" in Greenwich CT who recently won a big jackpot.

The biggest problem most big winners have is fending of the leches and unscrupulous, some of whom used to be their friends and family.

Hire a good Consiglieri, as well as Vinnie, the Rat to keep the riff-raff at bay. Then hire a squad of former Marines to provide security. Pay them well.

Has anybody considered starting a LS model RR company so that it can be done right, here in the USA?

Me, neither.

That would fall under the same catagory as buying a shortlineā€¦consider the money as spent and it as a hobby

I would get outta Dodge, because once the world found outā€“in about 2 nanosecondsā€“our life would be a mess. You would have more friends than you could ever imagine, every group, orgnization, etc. would want a piece of you, youā€™d have financial ā€œadvisorsā€ coming out of the wooodwork. But the biggest threat would be that someone would want to take you mega-millions awayā€“by force and at any expense (your life).

Still, if I did win Iā€™d buy yā€™all a beer, Red Bull, or beverage of your choice.

Beverage? You can do better than that :) How about you charter the Royal Scotsman and take us for a ride :D

You already have more friends than you can imagine

You canā€™t win if you donā€™t play and what is a couple of bucks to dream about how your life would be with all that mulla. Iā€™m thinking Ferrari, Biplane and soem really cool train stuff.
On that noteā€¦
I like all your ideas and I will be sure to start implementing some of them when I wake up the winner tomorrow. HA!!!
Todd

What a relief
Turns out I donā€™t have to worry about all the evil that crashes down on lottery winners :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey I didnā€™t win the BIG Lotto ?? Maybe I can still cancel that order for the Big Boy and the mile of track??? LOL
It was fun anyways to dream a bit.
What would be fun is to do a reality show on the winners and follow them around for a year to see how they fare.
Better luck next time and until then Happy RRing

as somebody pointed out, the odds were 1 in 175 million, for a prize of over half a billionā€¦
or a guaranteed near tripling of your money in a single drawing - if you were the single winner- providing you had that kind of liquid scratch to begin with. After taxes youā€™d STILL have likely doubled it

Ever wonder if the Russian mob figured that it way too?

From what i have read most people who win it big end up being miserable. Constant phone calls from relatives and freinds, scamers ectā€¦

In two of the three states that did have winners, there is no requirement to release your name to the public. So, if you live in the right state..............and can keep a secret ;) Ralph

Too many folks would notice we weren't driving a worn out lump of sh-- anymore

I had a much better chance of having Kiera Knightly fall out of the sky onto my lap, which sadlyā€¦ didnt happen either, Oh well!
