Going to take my k-27 with me but i don’t want to box it up or spent upwards of $300 for a custom transport system. ANY IDEAS WELCOME??? Thanks, Bruce
Bart and Ken have a great one that they make, pretty much out of scrap wood. Check out the article Ken wrote about it.
Bob,
Ken’s idea is great! And there have been many copies. Denny Karner has expanded on it a little by making them stackable and if you turn the carrierit updside down it becomes a small work bench. I don’t know if Denny is planning to bring any of them to York (and I saw the note that you can’t go), but next time I’m around him, I’ll make sure I get pictures.
I made found a box that was close (around 28’‘x 14’’ 10’’ high) to size at a shipping store for $5 and lined it with foam and found it a safe way to transport loco. One drawback top flaps didnt close securely and if tipped loco could fall out. A little care or tape would remidy the problem.
Denny Karner sent pictures and plans to me. I have forwarded them to Bob and asked him to post them here. Kind of above my pay grade or capability.
I’ve been thinking about that too. My requirements are:
- Drive or roll the loco off without picking the engine itself up.
- Stackable.
- Holds securely for transport.
Rats, my Skillsaw is 250 miles away in William’s garage.
