Just wondering if the pretty small almost tree-looking plant will stay small this way. I’ll get a photo later today when I’m at home. Edit: here it is
Kinda hard to answer that as we don’t know your growing zone location. Somehow I think you are in New Jersey so perhaps zone 7?
I don’t know how you knew I was in New Jersey but yeah, 7a. I’ll get a photo of the tree in a little bit (which was bought from Amazon. Yes, Amazon).
Interesting. Seems to be a new dwarf variety, sure why not? 20 x 24 inches or so.
Just keep after pruning if that is too big for you, but I like that size.

Because you have mentioned it in the past posts. However as stated twice “Sure Why Not” !
I heard dwarf plants don’t tend to say small long-term but then again this is more of a bush than a tree. Well as long as it doesn’t grow too tall I can shape it a little bit like you said. Thanks for your input
Yeah I forgot haha
Max, we joined our local bonsai society, just for garden railway purposes. We planted a number of ash and olive trees in double pots and that worked for a year until the trees bridged the gap and sent down roots through the second pot.
We double potted them so that, or so we thought, we could trim the roots AND leave a perfect hole in the garden railway as a space holder. However we forgot some trees develop significant tap roots and can anchor the tree deep underground. This year I’m testing out weed mat in either the planted pot or the space holder pot. This way the excess water can escape and the roots will stay in the pot.
I highly recommend joining a bonsai club as they can help understand the difference between a stick in a pot and a tree in a pot, as well give tips on how to “age” your trees.
