I got a new toy/hobbie to work with besides trains

Here is a picture of my new toy/hobbie. something to work on and mess with besides the trains.

yes that is a real firetruck and yes I did buy it. and most people thought I was nuts for a train in the yard.

Geoff, knowing you, I feel this needs further explanation :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought my F350 crew cab duelly was to small so I got a bigger truck Robbie.

Sheesh, what some people will do to get a good parking spot at the train show…

Later,

K

I like it…

How soon will it be decorated in Fire Engine Red, instead of Chartreuse?

30 Years ago we owned a 1940 Ford fire pumper. Wish we still had it…:frowning: :frowning:

If you’re looking to part with the F350, I’ll take it off your hands for $12.49 and a handshake.

Good way to get through traffic jams…

A lot more explanation! But the short version could still be: "Oh no, there goes the neighbourhood!"

Yes!!! I want a ride.

You could start a firefighting side business with that. Just drive up to the burning building and negotiate the prices.

Geoff are you going to use this new toy to pull the club trailer

I would say your nuts, but then I’ve already warned my wife that if I ever find myself looking at a member of a short list of cars (Porsche 356 rep, 550 rep, or 912, Caterham 7,…couple others) and have the funds…I would jump.

I sure she would love the 356 or even the 550, but I’m sure the Caterham would completely terrify her.

Good luck with it, looks like fun.

Now why would I think Geoff is going to be supervising when cleaning time rolls around?? :stuck_out_tongue:

WOW! Geoff, that is sure some new toy you have to play around with. Haven ridden on UK fire trucks for nearly 30 years I sure would enjoy a ride on your truck.

Regarding the color: an attempt by the City of Coventry, in central England, painted some of it fire fighting vehicles in a bright yellow. This was back around 1970. The objective was to make the vehicles more obvious to other road users and they would stand out amongst red buses, post office and other red painted vehicles.

But Big Brother in London said no! Regulations stipulate red for firefighting vehicles. End of story.

Alan
Your welcome to a ride anytime but your going to have to come to the truck.
I dont think I can afford the fuel to get it to you.

A repaint is on the list. Have to get the rust fixed first. I’m hopeing it will only be a 5 year rehab on the truck but one never knows.

Saturday I’m taking it to the greeenhouse so Ic an pick up some more plants for the Railroad.

I’m guessing its ok to mix hobbies.

Geoff,

That’s a huge truck…where are you gonna put it ?

Its in my driveway Joe. Looks good there too.

If the garden railroad and Christmas lights didn’t have your neighbors convinced you were looney tunes,
the fire truck should do it
Ralph

Annoyed by a neighbor’s barking dog or loud party?
Fire up the siren at 2AM.
