I do believe that you have been bitten by the trackage bug. If you’r really nice the miss’s will let you run some around the coffee table. And when she leaves you home alone for a couple of days you can double track the hallway.
BTW put the christmas tree up in early Nov. and you can run trains until mid Jan,

During the early part of layout construction I got a lot of ribbing from my German “friends” about the lack of progress (little did and do they know!). Soooo one day I set up a bit of track on the patio - mixture of LGB and Aristo - to run
a) an Austrian NG steamer
b) two Swiss freight cars from different railway companies at the opposite end of the country with no connection
c) a German coach from the Barmer Bergbahn
I called it my eclectic train, but they didn’t get it even though most of them run a mish-mash of gigantic proportions.

Funny Dave. in the past before I bought a plow and built a rotary for Winter running the Christmas tree setup was all I had in the Winter months. It is funny how a Christmas tree can turn into a Valentines day tree, a St Patricks Day tree and one year a Easter tree when the trains are running around it.
I think you need some switches next Michael then you can create blocks to park trains on and do some switching.
Looks like you have been bitten by the train bug.
