Here again we hear of vigourous building going on at the Foley residence in GB.
Correct me if I’m wrong; but, several years ago, there seemed to be some plan of that famous lad; Terry, to move lock stock and barrel, along with various vehicles, and railroad equipment; over to North America.
Whatever happened to those long awaited plans…we were looking forward to the opportunity to teach that young lad, that there is more to model railroading; live steam included; than running in circles.
We had even planned on publishing a report on the transition of the Lad, from a collector to an operator, in three operating sessions…
Oh well; life goes on…I’ll enjoy the Whisky I was saving for the arrival.!!!
Fr. Fred,
I think TAC found out he was a “closet closterphobic” and decided that he liked the confined spaces. Just too much space in these nations we call North America. Maybe someday we can get him to at least visit during the “Invasion”, I’ll certainly buy him a RumSki.
He should prolly move just to save shipping costs on all his future train purchases.
And get a real garage!

Please note that tac is not a closet claustrophobe. tac was reared in SE Ontario and appreciates open spaces more than most, I’d bet.
tac enjoys buying his cars in BC every three years, Nanaimo to be precise, and driving them back to SE Ontario so his famb can share them when he and mrs tac are not around.
tac has a deep and abiding love of open spaces of the very largest kind, especially the prairies, where he has spent months playing spot the birdie and train-fanning since age 5 or so.
tac is now 61.
tac is not yet in his last home because his 92 year old mother is still around,as is his 26-year old disabled daughter.
Just as soon as tac can move in good conscience, he and mrs tac will do so. It could even be to sunny Oregon
So please don’t write us off until you read the obit.
Best to all
ig, the tac family ig

It’s the “lock, stock and barrel” which is (most likely ) the problem. This could be multi-fold
he has so many that he’s still packing
after submitting “the list” of all the weaponry he was told:
a) Sir, this list will take a while to process. Our gun registration facilities are working full tilt already.
b) We appreciate your kind offer, however for deployment purposes would you mind staying put, for the moment?
c) We certainly look forward to your move, in order to facilitate matters we have assigned you a dedicated real estate agent who specialises in vacant armouries.
The authorities are still recovering from receiving the “paper work”.
Oh the reasons, oh the reasons!

My pal RXXX, who lives in Texas, has over 1300 rifles alone, and does not actually know how many handguns he has. Another pal in ARK has over 400 of each, and three ranges on his property to shoot them on.
After the terrible events of March 1996, all of us here in England, Scotland and Wlaes had our handguns taken away from us by a knee-jerking gubmint - I lost 118 handguns, many of them heirloom pieces.
They left me my rifles, and I still have fifteen of them, and three handguns of the type that we are allowed to have under the new legislation…
We’ll have to see what transpires in the near future…
Best wishes to all there from us here -

The way the mentality seems to be going, TAC, I suggest you get ready to give up the rest of your guns. The guvment will protect you…NOT
In the lower 48 we have a saying: Outlaw guns and then only outlaws will have guns.
How did the government know you had what weapons and how many? In the lower 48, many people will not register a weapon or join an organization like the National Rifle Association. Our military protects us from foreign governments and groups or individuals that want to do us harm. The second amendment protects the first amendment and the citizens of the United States from our government and each other. If everyone you met had to be treated politely and with caution because they might be carrying a weapon, this would be a far more civil world. Gun control, conceal and carry and other “feel good” laws are some people’s way of saying they will protect you until they can’t and then even sorry or oops will never be good enough. Freedom has never been free.
And Tac it will be long after I read your obit that I write you off. I still raise a glass to troops that died in '67 and think of them all the time. Those that have protected others always deserve to be remembered.
