How to order LGB parts

It seems I need to help others order parts from LGB.

First due to the large inventory of parts you need an LGB 00305 LGB Service, CD, V. (Costs $15 to $20 depending on the hobby shop that you buy from). It is the newest version with most of the LGB products. The files are in Adobe Acrobat and a viewer for that program is encluded on the disc. ALSO, in the knowledge database at www.LGBoA.com there are many of these pdf files with each of the newer products can be found…but for the older LGB items you must have the Service CD.

Under the “products” tab on the Service CD is each LGB item listed by it’s LGB Part Number. You MUST know what the LGB item is to order parts.

Once you identify the LGB part number put it in an e-mail subject line (Example: Subject: 20192 Parts) This is a 20192 (aka 2019S) C&S Sound Mogul.

Go to the 20192 tab in the product section on the service cd. Find the part diagram number(s) on the exploded diagram.

In the message part of your request for parts list them so:

…CD Diagram #…Description…Qty (each)
Now list the part items individually that you need.

send your order by e-mail to: [email protected]

include your name, address and phone number in your message.

The parts are now listed on the LGB Files as I said above. Sending a cryptic message requesting parts will get you order placed to the side until the parts department (one person) has time to look up and try to figure out what you want. Using the method I outlined above with get your prompt service.

It works very well for me.

Hi all,

Occasionally I receive inquiries from forum members (not just this forum!) regarding “what’s what on this piece of equipment”. In some cases, if it concerns LGB, I usually provide the applicable PDF file from the Service CD.

If required, I even highlight the parts on the PDF file, for better clarity. Exploded view drawings are not always as clear as a proper parts drawing.

Marvin,

This could be news to you, but having worked - for 30 years - in the machine tool service field (from service engineer over service manager to running my own business) I have a good idea which types of drawings are “not that clear” to many customers. A dollar for every “I couldn’t make that out” would be a nice little pile!

An exploded view of parts is just that , not an engineer drawing . It is generally a view of those parts which are available --as parts .
So , on modern cars , for example because everyone is too thick to dismantle a fan/water pump assembly , it is shown as a part . Get it ?

If I had a dollar for every time you slighted LGB, I could buy LGB......myself.
