How to Not Show the Most Recent Posts?

Bob:

I just upgraded the memory in my MacBook, so it was rebooted. Previously when I did a cold start and went to the LSC forums, there was a set of arrows at the top left of the main forum page that allowed me to not show the ‘Most Recent Post’ list. Once set, the forum would come up without the adjacent list until I rebooted the machine.

Those arrows aren’t there this evening. Did they go away with my old memory modules?

Continued thanks for the great site!

Those the kind that can remember 50 years ago like yesterday, but can't find the glasses you set down 3 minutes ago ?

FWIW - I don’t see the arrows anymore either.

I asked Bob about this the other night, I had just downloaded the latest Firefox and they were gone. He said he removed them since no one was using them, I found them handy but I guess I can live without them.

I can add em back easily enough… (rummages in the code)

Bob:

Looks like you found them! Thanks.

I always use them, although it’s not a life changing item.

Bringing my computer’s memory up to the 4GB maximum is nearly a life changing event. No more page outs! That will last until either Safari or Firefox release a new, more bloated and confusing version. There was absolutely nothing wrong with FF ver. 3.x, and I find several things wrong with ver 4.x. I really wish I had not ‘upgrade.’ There is apparently no path back.

Thanks Again!

Yea, I upgraded one laptop to FF4, and hate it. Sticking with FF3 for a while. I HATE the new look.

I ran FF4 from pre-alpha all the way to final release, and it seemed to develop all sorts of random bugs/crashes in the release. I switched to 5.0 pre-alpha and it’s fine. Go figure…

Not a fan of Chrome, though all the other computer science people I know love it.
