How to do handrails?

I’ve got my Big Hauler into B6 up and running, with an aristo slopeback tender adding power pickup. Got lights wired, added a cab light and a firebox light just 'cause i like 'em. Used the backhead from an Annie, added a various bits.

So I want to do the handrails, and the thing is how to attach them? I have plenty if wire for rails, but the attachment is tough

This model is in 1/29, or pretty close

The Annie attachment posts are too big.

I was thinking about maybe going to get some fishing hooks, and cutting off the hook and using the eyelet. Then soldering the rail to the eyelet.

Anyone have any tips?

Ozark Miniatures and Trackside Details offer several styles of handrail posts.
For the handmade kind, small cotter pins can work too.

I use these brass eye pins from MicroMark…they’re a lot easier to work with than fish hooks.

You can get 144 for $4.80.

David teased me for using brand new fish hooks, not old wormy ones

Great ideas! Thank you
