Funny… when I got an infection from a tooth removal …I was sent to see an Infectious diseases specialist … just lost half of my jaw bone… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif)

At least someone decided to get you into someone. I am thankful that when this whole thing sprang up that it didn’t end up in my brain. After all even though it was in my belly it had an open path to the center of my brain. Ultimately that is why she decided to remove it altogether, which I agree with. What I don’t agree with is why did we let it get that far before seeing someone who specializes in such things.

I am sorry to hear about losing half your jaw. Where they able to reconstruct it and give you a new one. I knew a guy who lost a major chunk of jaw to cancer from chewing. Not a fun ordeal.

I have one of my leg bones graphed to what is left of the jaw. You only need one leg bone to walk! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Yup a six million dollar man …

That doesn’t sound fun. I’ll pass.

You can have your fun as well !

Its always funny to me how the other guy’s stuff seems worse than what your going through. I have talked to other people who have some major next level stuff going on and think to myself “well it could be worse, I could be them” and then when they hear my sob story they be like “well and I thought I had it rough”. Its kinda comical. But at the same time not.

When I saw your open wound, any notion of self pity evaporated!

Yea, it does seam to work out that way. But my “issues” seam small, because I have dealt with them for a while, and reached a work around. But to look at someone else’s issues, I have no workaround for them, so they seam so much bigger.

Brings to mind something Dad said during his Navy days about when in a storm at sea it seems the ships you are looking at are having a rougher time of it than the one you are on.

And I wouldn’t want your situation in the slightest. Makes my issues seem petty.

Neither of you fellas have “petty” issues. I can’t image going through what you two are going through. My heart bleeds for you both! Trains can take your mind off of your medical problems. Been there, done that.

I hesitate to dump my problems here, this is my refuge.

But I also know that we are ‘end of lifers’ in this scale, so letting my friends know of the daily grind can prep you for the huge void (said Pooh modestly) of my absence.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I treat this as Bob’s living room where train guys gather. We talk about trains and we are concerned for each other. Many of you have been a huge support if only in the cyber realm. Its nice to know people are concerned about me as much as they are about what i am building Devoning at the moment.

I am seriously thinking this weekend about getting out and clearing leaves and debris off the track. Maybe run a train or two depending on energy level. I have a Christmas gift to make as well. But even if i don’t run one this weekend I want it cleared so that when it snows I can shovel it out and play in the snow.

That’s the spirit !

You go get 'em tiger! Semper Fi!

Well the wife kept me busy and I didnt get to the layout. Dang it, and it did snow. Not enough to stop my efforts hopefully this weekend.

Wives…If you’re good enough to play trains, you’re good enough to do chores!..(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Moms feel the same way. And then she asks why I don’t play trains as much as I used to. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
