How hot was Saturday?

According to the hotbox detector … well you can find out yourself

Checked out Ashcroft and Basque to see how to get some footage from Black Canyon. Looks like a hefty hike to get to where I think would be good spots, save that for next year. Most of the ranch land is posted with “No trespassing” signs. :frowning: :frowning:

Love the videos, HJ. Keep em coming!

I can’t tell ya’ how much I love them…excellent as stated many times!

Thank you gentlemen!

Here’s one more …

When I came back from Basque these guys had just finished setting out some cars - darn! - and were getting ready to move on. Ah well, maybe some other time.
The gons at the head-end were stacked with ties.

To simplify things when people ask I printed up some different cards

Now they’ll probably ask “What’s a railfan?” I’ll let you know.

Might they thing you are a fan of old rail? I am

Now they’ll probably ask “What’s a railfan?”

Hey! I actually have one of those railfans. They were a gag souvenir sold in the Roanoke NRHS Chapter’s gift shop car during the NS steam excursions. Mine looks like the old “funeral parlor” fans. It is emblazoned with the Roanoke Chapter logo and proudly proclaims “GENUINE RAIL FAN” on the opposite side.

Have fun,
David Meashey

Yes, I need one of those, too.

BTW SWMBO thought I made a typing mistake i.e. it should have been “Old Railfart”. I guess respect has to be earned, eh!?!

I’m afraid Rodney Dangerfield was right, and he didn’t even play with trains. :>)

Respectfully yours,
David Meashey

HJ,

Nice video! Did not expect to see a desert landscape in Canada.
