I’d think that a speedometer would be more useful… what about a peak hold reading? Then someone could run the train at a set speed and stop it and see what they were running at?
I use a wireless speedometer from Dave Bodnar, really is nice to know how fast you are actually running.

Yea, a wireless one would be REALLY cool.
I have a unit that displays speed, it takes a hardwired input from a “hoop” that sits over the tracks, or a wireless unit in a hopper car, with an encoder on the axle… for a little extra, the voltage is also sent back, so I can see areas of low voltage.
