How does one get the on?

Got a 3rd Climax today. This one came without these steps or whatever they are called attached but in a bag. How do I get these things on?

Turn loco over (use the top of the styrefoam container).
Remove 2 screws in each end underneath that hold the bottom plates on the end beams.
Remove plates.
Slide steps into slots.
Re-install plates and screws.

Thanks TOC. Got the screws out. Is the plate suppose to just lift up and out?

Yes, but can be “tight”.
The link pocket can sometimes be pulled to lift the center of the plate.
