Thanks, Yogi, very informative. I’ll be using the tool soon. I’ve been looking for just that sort of device.

Thanks for the update, Yogi. I just bought one of the Tippi cutters a month or so ago, but havent done anything with it. Time to build a bridge or something…

I’ve done a deep dive here and links seem to have disappeared over time, so I thought I’d ask if anyone has an opinion on hot foam cutters.

Do I need to look at multiple attachments or will one like this do the job?

the one you have linked is so necessary as a pebble in the shoe.
take any soldering iron, put a knitting needle (metal) as point, and off you go.
(am i right, that you got 220V AC down there? if yes, buy one of these cheap converters from 220V to 110V to put before the soldering iron, that makes for less heat and slower, more exact cutting)

i prefer another type of foam cutter. a grip with a - bendable - wire loop.
good for irregular cuts, for landscape, mountains.

or use a soldering iron as is.

Unfortunately, Yogi’s website went away shortly after he passed several years ago. This is another thread that has replies from fallen flags :frowning:

I use three different types of foam cutters, two are handheld, one with a straight rod cut and one with a curved cut, the other is a Proxxon table top model that cuts foam in both straight and curved cuts, does a great job on building structures, etc.
