I was reading my Valley Log newspaper from back home and on the front Page it shows good Ole Honest Abe lincoln at the EBT. The discovery channel is doing a show on the gettysburg address and they used the East Broad Top as a location. It was good to see the EBT getting some spotlight for once. Was anyone there or did they see it.

I have an ambition to ride on the EBT before I die, along with quite a few other ambitions of a railroading nature. I still have not fulfilled a waking dream I had many years ago [we Celts are like that], in which I stood about 20 yards in front of three big diesels, quiet after a day's work, in the light of the most beautiful sunset imaginable...could have been in NM.. I have to go to Galena OH, just to stand on the trackside an look along to the old depot building in the early light, and visit a couple of places on the old NP, one of which is the lonely depot at Valley City ND.
