Im in the process of making a small display for taking pictures of my kitbashes etc… Whats the best way to keep the balast in place? Can i just mix elmers glue with water into my crusher fines and then spread in place. Not sure of the process since im not an indoor guy. It wont be left outside.
Yes.

Add a few drops of dish soap to “wet” the water. The diluted glue will flow better over the ballast.
I need to do this to my display track. There’s more dust between the ties than ballast :o
Cool and thanks guys. I have my track down to a long board sitting outside. Im using good old bachmann track. Waiting for a little rust to form and then after balast down going to spray it with something to preserve the track some. See how it goes. I figure Bachmann is best since it does not take much to weather/rust LOL
Shawn, This is the way I have secured the ballast…
Spread the ballast along the track, as you desire it to be, then spray it with a wetting agent, such as a few drops of dishwashing liquid in water… Then you can apply the glue/water mixture… I usually use a turkey baster to apply the glue…
