Hobby Room remodel

Abut done with the remodeling of the hobby room. New linoleum plank floor. New workbench supported by some kids chest of drawers from Target. 24" top with adhesive lino tiles. Tried to get organized, have some bins labeled. Cleaning a boat model I did 30 years ago to go in the other basement room, it got fixed up also.

Bench top rests on some chest of drawers, with some organizers inside. One drawer for wood, one for metal/etc

Still need to finish the edge. You can see the corner of the bench support. Labels on some of the bins. Glass to work on and drip glue on.

Some older bins I had from before. One pull out top under the cabinet top. Cheap lino tiles from Menards, 27 cents each!

My wife says our whole house is one big hobby room…

Jerry, your’s is too clean… looks good, tho…

Whoa. That’s looking like a good place to build stuff. Play some music to calm the nerves?? Move the computer far away so you don’t end up online wasting time!!

(and hide the 1/32 scale!!)

Mine gets remodeled every time I use it. Another inch of sawdust on the floor, more bit’s of plastic on the bench, more tools scattered hither and yon, more dust on the cabinets, different color paint blobs on the wall, one more fluorescent bulb burnt out…

Wow, that’s really nice!
Mine’s in the far corner of my basement or ‘hobby dungeon’ as my fiance calls it.

Thanks guys, doubt it will stay that way, but I’m determined to give it a try.

Nice place to hide and work on models. I like it. Now you need to add one of those electric wood stoves to set he mood.

Like Andy Clarke said… Plus our Garage, Outbuildings, Guest house, Kat house.

How do you find anything laying around with stuff put away, and missing parts that want to hide so you can think of… is this what you want to do If you had that part right now. With that White painted work bench that would shows up everything like Screws, Springs, Pins, Tools?

I have Mr. Yoahoodie that helps me out by giving me some time and a chance to figure out how I can I do something difference while chasing down a part that moved.
Also,
If my work bench was like yours, my project would probably be over so quick that I didn’t have time to correct the mistakes I made in building it… lol.

Just kidding Jerry… It looks darn good and easy to find things. (http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/noelw/Smilies/good.gif)

Beer in the fridge and peanut shells on the floor would promote a better modeling attitude.

Sure, that looks very nice, but where are ya gonna do yer serious modeling?

Whats Missing is you’r childhood three railer running around the top of the room, just above the doorways.

Very nice workshop Jerry. I can relate on the cleanliness. I had every intention of keep my workshop clean. Well…it hasn’t gone so good. I do pick things up, but when you have three different projects going at various stages of doneness it takes up space…

Well, I have not gotten back to work on anything yet. Still detailing stuff in the other basement room, it has my stereo/tv and jukebox. Some painting left in there yet to do.

My intentions of cleanliness last until the next project pops up…
