Large Scale Central

Hmm

Something up with the forum index,and,of course, I cant fix it when Im . Ill fix it Sunday morning when i get back home.

Dear All,

I’ve been navigating in the following manner:

  1. Login from the home page (upper right corner).

  2. Click on any thread link under “Forum Posts” on the left hand side of the home page. (It’s good for something, now, at least!)

  3. After reading through thread, click on the sub-forum name at the bottom or top of the page. This takes you back to the sub-forum index.

  4. Change the last digit(s) in the address line, then hit carriage return. This takes you to a surprise new sub-forum index.

  5. Click on desired thread.

  6. Back to step 3.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Edit: punctuation, added “under forum posts”

here is what Joe is talking about:

http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewforum.php?id=12 <— that 12 number. change it only and hit retrun and a new forum index come up.

here is a forum code I wrote down

1 = Modeling
2 = General Discussion
3 = Conventions
5 = Power & Sound
6 = Gardening
7 = On30
8 = Operations
9 = Prototypes
10 = Reviews
11 = Rolling Stock
12 = Website
13 = Track & Trestles
14 = Tools & Tips
15 = Live Steam
19 = Articles

The missed numbers were not good links
hope this helps
Geoff

Thanks, and sorry guys. Someone has taken an interest in screwing up LSC fairly consistently. I gotta figure out how they’re getting in and block it.

Things should be back to normal now. Let me know of any other issues.

I sent Bob the data from Avast this morning.
If you were going through the home page to get on the forums, and your security software wasn’t setting off full-page alarms, you need to do a security scan.
Now.

fozdegen.com/index.php
URL Malware
iexplore.exe

Tries to write in iexplore.exe.

I couldn’t get past it, Avast kept shutting it out.

Solution - Run Linux

Still getting the redirect attempt this morning on the home page.

Must be a disgruntled LYSOL member.

That was my guess too, Tom. Someone with nothing better to do! It would sure be fun to derail them!

Yup, AVG shut that out for me, too. And I was using Firefox.

Yea. AVG alerted me that something was amiss.

Bob,

My Windows confuser has been in the shop for the last week, so I have been using my Linux firewall machine for browsing with no ill affects from your web site. I am using Oprea for browsing with this machine. Hope this will help narrow the field to swat the bug.

Bob C.

Bob must of sprayed that bug… All fixed here now and Avest has not problems with IE. Tks Bob.

I had to spend some time at hospital today, so took the laptop.
Before Avast had a chance to fully update, I got an attempt to download iexplore.exe, which is what it tried and blocked before.
Just a head’s up.

Dave I hope everything is ok with you.

Hm. Which page gives you that warning? Everything’s been sanitized and secured as far as I can tell.
