HLW Big John complete (Dunkirk Engine)

I finally finished painting my Dunkirk engine. No longer big John. I am pretty happy with the wway it came out. We also had a nice 65 degree day yesterday. Perfect day to test the engine out. I only had to dig out the back of the layout from a snow drift that does not want to go away. Dunkirk on the display track with the wood sides and without(I think I like it without the wood sides).

I also painted the inside and addeda little detail

A few shots of the Dunkirk with rolling stock on layout

Whats left of the snow

Woody pickup with trailer

Looks great Shawn.
I like the wood pile and wood chips in the cab.

Finished?? Your just getting started.

Need to clutter that deck with assorted logging and locomotive paraphenelia.

Otherwise looks great! I agree about looking better without the sides.

Shawn,

Very nicely done. You have a good eye for detail. Thanks for sharing.

Fact or fiction? I'm still waiting to see pics of real cluttered locos. Anyway...

That looks great, Shawn! Nice job!

Actually I have some chain to hang off the engine. Im waiting for it to rust before I put it on. I also have some axes etc… I just have to dig them out of the snow.

Shawn, Nice job!! I like it with the side boards off. Don’t clutter it too much…in real life loose items would have fallen off!( I spent a summer as a fireman on a little tourist RR,I was amazed how much an engine bounces and lurches).

Shawn,

Are you coming to YorK? I’d sure like to see that engine in person and take some comparison pictures next to my Heisler and Climax.
