The Rhaetian Railway turned 100 back in 1989 and offered a 100 hours trip over their network. A “must have” for those who love the RhB and could afford the sticker price.
It wasn’t cheap, but it was a “once in a life time” occasion and a perfect excuse to finally buy a camcorder.
We spent two weeks based at Filisur - THE junction on the RhB - and the 100 hours trip was tacked on at the end. The routine was, a day of hiking, then a day of railfanning, another day of hiking and so on.
On hiking days it was also SLR day. Railfanning included the whole shebang, including measuring tape, big note book and of course the cameras.

And what is that guy doing on the ladder? He’s cleaning the windows on a baggage car.
Note: the original recording was on VHS-C cassettes and digitizing happened about 20 years after the event.
