Large Scale Central

History Reference

Dear All,

This morning, Thursday, July 30, this was on the home page here at LSC:

Today in Railroad History

1902 - The largest locomotive in the world is wrecked at Denver, Colorado.

I can’t find reference to this on the web. No reference for July 29, 1902 either.

Anyone have any more details? Specifically, which loco (make, model, road name and number) were they talking about?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Does not say what the locomotive was except it was a Santa Fe engine being used as a pusher.
