Hilary

The biggest criticism that the Dems have about “W” is that he hasn’t found Osama.

Their preferred candidate for Prez in 2008 is Hilary.

How is she going to do the job? She can’t even keep track of her husband!

Steve, From what I read and hear, it looks like Hilary isn’t as obsessive about Osama or Bill as the “Shrubbery Clan” is about either. OK OK I admit … I do very selective reading and have very selective hearing.

And I really doubt that she’d say “By George, I’ll get the sucker!”

Well…If I were married to a woman like Hillary I’d cheat too…:stuck_out_tongue:

Warren

…It’s interesting to be sitting over here on the other side of the fence, er…Border…

Why would any of you even consider voting for the hag…but then look at your track record…most immpressive; almost like as ours up here, but we don’t have the worries of a fool dominating the world.

…I wonder where any of your future Presidents stand on Amtrak…or does anyone care. (Railroad content*)

*I thought it might be a nice touch !!

Fred,

As in “Emmmmm track??, what’s that?”

The one Clambake mag I buy more often than any other i.e. sporadically when there’s CDN content, is TRAINS. Reading the notes/reports on some of the Amtrak decisions just puzzles me. Oh dear, what a bunch of shortsighted people who authorize the funds for Amtrak!

OTOH I remember a certain minister of transport up here who people were convinced he had jet-engines for brains.

And for the laugh of the day:

Jolly Prince Charlie of “Overthere” has decided that it is time to do something about the environment. He is having his LandRover, and whatever-else he drives, converted to Bio-Diesel. Instead of using his Royal-Jet he’ll fly commercial like the rest of us.
Tsk tsk tsk… he could just stay home and watch the fire in the fireplace and chat with Camilla. That is after he installed a scrubber on the fireplace chimney.

…Hans; as part of that “Jug Ears” story; it also said he was to use “TRAINS” as part of his transport in the future.

The only question is; will that old bitch let him…he sure knows how to pick 'em.

Of course she picked him, so as far as I’m concerned they deserve each other.

And we all know the theory that his father, the old fart got rid of his other wife for him. Nice to see that the old fart left very little trail. Or should we say "Track", in order to put in just an added bit of rail content....!!!!

Fred,

If that pans out it would give the expression Royal Train a whole new meaning.

Could be good for this one.

His Royal Pain, He rides the Train
It seems quite plain, He’ll never reign.

Cheers, eh.

PS Jug Ears got what he was looking for: a set of jugs to rest his ears in-between!

When you are deriding the future King of my country , perhaps you will permit me the same latitude to deride your assholes of politicians , especially presidents .
Remarks like that from an oik whose home country was guaranteed neutrality by us are in poor taste . Grow up .

First, Mike I don’t care what you say about our president or politicians. Just don’t say it about us Americans.

Second, those that have been deriding the future King of your country also kneel to the same monarchy. They are all Canadian!! They have just as much right to say what they wish as you do!

Aha , thought you might say that .

He is The Prince of Wales , not Canada . OK ?

And in any case , the Prince of Wales is British , thus I suggest that your comment about not deriding Americans does not hold a lot of water , does it ? You can’t have it both ways , mate .

I suggest that in the interests of diplomacy and retaining a bit of decorum , this thread is terminated , Patriotism in its many forms should not be attacked , not by anyone .

Mike,
If and when Charles accedes to the British throne he will automatically become king of Australia and Canada.

You know, those loyal Dominions who faithfully supported the mother Country in time of need.

Therefore, as the next inline to the throne I daresay he has some legally royal position in the Canadian community, even if it is not officially Prince of Canada.

Whilst I have no love of the current incumbent British Monarchy per se, I do think that the British Monarchical system as currently practised, is the best form of Democracy in the Free World with the possible exception of the proportional representation system used in the Australian Senate, The Tasmanian house of Reps and the upper house of my state, Victoria. The State of Victoria being named of course after that other long serving female Monarch.
What I don’t think is right is the Monarch becoming a Monarch by accident of birth instead of acclamation by the people.
As an aside. What ever anyone might choose to say about about the House of Saxe-Coburg & Gotha, the female members all seem to live a very long time.

I reserve the right to question patriotism if that patriotism is shown to be misguided and/or based on lies perpetrated by those in power seeking to achieve a political end by conning the people.

Hey Chris,

That last part, does it refer to English “sausage”? Or is it an expression of patriotism, as in “We will defend our sausage rights against the wicked bureaucrats in Brussels!”

Oh darn, it’s breakfast time in the UK, let’s hope they don’t choke on the sausages. hehehe!

Well Warren, I really don’t know about the kneeling part.

But now that we have been reminded of the Prince of Wales, here goes with the second part for the above ditty.

The Prince of Wales, oh how he wails
as he hails a pod of whales.

Must have been at some WWF event.

Nothing wrong with a good banger. As for the bureaucrats in Brussels, most of them should be turned into sausage, with or without breadcrumbs.

Aye, aye Sire, your head looks good on that pike. You’ve never been taller!

Why do people find Patriotism funny ?

We are asking the Muslims who immigrate to become integrated —thus we expect a bit of support in return , like sticking up for our country.

They are the one group of immigrants who NEVER complain about their countries of birth . They have many other faults , but they are loyal .

That puts them up a step or two from the mick takers , who I note are all recent immigrants to their chosen country .

And do not presume to remind me that the Commonwealth comes to our aid , I show my appreciation for their sacrifices by regularly visiting their cemeteries and memorials , have done since I was a kid . I also visit the American ones .
I feel it my duty to show respect to them . While there is one person who is happy to do this , these Patriots will never be forgotten . Think about that the next time you rush past a memorial .
I don’t suppose you know where there are any . Or if you’ve taken the trouble to show your respects . Or even looked for one .
Next time you are in a foregn country where there is a memorial to your countrymen , try taking a photo of it and give it to the family of any of your acquaintances who might have a relative commemorated there .
I have done this , it is very satisfying for those who have not been able to afford the trip .

That is what Patriotism is about , not making fun of love of Queen and Country , and honouring those who can no longer demonstrate their loyalty .

I know at least one of you will not be able to resist another snide dig --go ahead , show yourself up .
