Wow…
Riding the Narrow Gauge Railroads of Chile which was using Old U.S. Style Steamers was an experience of a lifetime for me.
Holy poop, sure would like to see the extra clearance work they needed for this puppy!
That is certainly a bit of a beast , I would like to make one of them . Min rad , 32 ft ,I would guess .
Is that an ex Canadian one , then ?
Mike
One could model a “what if” for the EBT and justify one to be used in the coal transfer area and modern interchange with the Pennsylvania. Now, picture that puppy in 1:20.3
Considering it’s sitting on dual-gauge track, and making the assumption that the diesel sitting next to it may be standard gauge, I don’t even want to contemplate that hummer in 1:20.3. It wouldn’t have to even move to make the trip from town to town on my railroad.

Naw, it’s sitting on 1:1 scale Lionel track. The center rail is hot.
For those interested I found some more pictures of the puppies at http://www.locopage.net/ama-pics.htm
Scroll down to the end of the “Brasil” section. One of the captions mentions the small fuel tank on account of the truck configuration.
Of course there are all kinds of GE export engines on that page/website.
Yo Bob - What metric gauge track is it suposed to be running on? Do they mean metre gauge?
Remember that 500mm, 760mm, metre gauge [1000mm] and 1435mm [4ft 8.5in] can all be called metric gauges…
Just me being picky, is all…

Its meter gauge.
A 1:20 version of this would scale out to a tad over 3 feet long, if my calculations are correct…hrm…

tac,
Yes, they mean Meter Gauge. Pretty obvious when you look at the difference between the SG and the MG in that picture.

Yeah, but would Bachmann build it? Lets see if it was LGB it would be a tad over 2 feet but would go round R1 curves.
Anybody have a good set of C40-9w drawings, or a CAD file? Might be an interesting project…
