I’m Terl and just joined yet another train related forum. I was induced to join this group by some of the nice models that were linked from mylargescale.com where I have spent most of my time. Already I have seen some familiar names.
I have been garden railroading about 20 years. Built all my own track and switches with aluminum rail which I am still running track power on. All rail joiners have stainless steel screws biting into them and the rail, which gives me power most of the time. Also my dry Colorado climate helps with corrosion.
Any way, I plan on rebuilding my 300 foot mainline from single track to double. The railroad goes all the way around the house, across the front driveway and through three tunnels in the back. We are having 100 degree temps here now, so I problably won’t be getting much done until fall.
