Help! LGB 2-4-0 ideas.

Ya know, could just swap pilot truck to other end and have something like this, http://narrowmind.railfan.net/042-Rogers114.jpg

anyone for a “Noiseless street motor” 0-4-2?

or if you have some extra SP decals, a diamond stack, and a trolley roof, http://narrowmind.railfan.net/042TdummySP.jpg

Forrest as you have shown there are so many appealing little idea for a bash project. I like the 0-4-2 thats kinda cool. I don’t know. I have so many ideas and so many unfinished project but it could be made into a cool loco. But its so nice the way it is.

Are they done yet?

John;

Until I saw the small stabilizer wheels on either side of that drive wheel, I was at a loss as to why the locomotive didn’t do a nose or tail dive. The 0-4-0st I ran shook bad enough, Don’t want to imagine how badly that beastie shimmied!

Those are just the training wheels …

Dual flanges keep the axle square to the rails, a judicious hand on the reverser keeps yer balance!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

I will never sell my soul to the devil. I can be led far astray, I can even be persuaded to model a diesel, but my railroad does not need female implements of pleasure running around on its rails. Besides I can’t afford it. Building a model only to wreck it is to expensive for me.

A train?

Jerry Ranger of Facebook’s g scale garden railways kit bashed 1 into a HLW 4-4-0 and said the drivers are only 3 mm smaller than, came out nice looking, I took a 2010 and added a front pilot to it for may logging engine, Bill

That’s perfect John. This is what I more or less had visioned when I said an older 2-4-0 I really like that and am leaning toward that or a 0-4-0 in the same style. But I like that a lot. I even like that weird passenger car its pulling. However I also have an LGB Stanz that I could use for a loco like that. Oh the choices lol

Okay i think I have made up my mind. I have enough donor locos to make some neat stuff. This one is too pretty to cut up and aside from some relettering and some weathering I think I am going to leave it as is and tackle a purpose built 2-4-0 like the one John posted to haul a link and pin string of cars.

Thanks for the input guys.

Devon,Can you explain that" female implements" comment? I was on an Amtrak train a couple of months ago, for several days, enjoying a nice ride across the US. Didn’t know of this activity on the train, I want to hear more on you experiences of this,

There is a reason us railroaders call it the “Silver Suppository”.

I have this engine and a powered tender, not quite my style, so a little modifications, Not Done , but here is what I got so far.

Is there nothing people won’t do with a STAINZ? That is really cool, Dennis.

Want to see how do a bash on a Stainz have a look at this.

https://riksrailway.blogspot.com/2017/04/how-i-anglicised-lgb-stainz-loco.html

Plus there is a couple of posts on how he installed batter power into one if that is your bent.

I am modifying a Stainz into a sugar cane style tank engine plus I am planning to a bash using 2 Stainz locos plus a Newquida loco (an LGB knock off).

So no there is no bounds to what people will do to a Stainz

Want to look at some good Stainz bashes google Stefan Otto.
