HELP!! D&RGW caboose cut lever needed...

Went over to Pete Spoerer’s to collect my now r/c Mudhen and make a couple of movies yesterday. A friend helped me to unload the car and on the way into the backyard, dropped my Sheridan centre cupola caboose on the concrete.

There were bits EVERYWHERE, including the part of ‘everywhere’ that is not accessible…

Picking up everything we could see - for the rebuild project - we lost the cut lever set from one end. Found everything else though. It seems to have evaporated…

Ozark seem to be out of stock, so I’m begging here, guys.

If anyone has one to spare, I’d be really grateful if it could be expedited in my direction in return for money, of course.

I’ve just got the thing back together - being made of wood, it split along grain lines, so most of the damage is invisible, apart from scrapes and chips, that is…all the metal bits that we could fine are OK, including the NLA marker lights [phew].

The dropee was devastated, but it’s all water under the bridge- these things happen, right?

tac the beggar.

Oh, my. That’s horribubble.

I don’t have the bit that you seek, I just thought that I’d send you my sympathy.

On the bright side, you get the fun of building the model, again.

‘Sympathy costs nothing to give, but is worth gold to receive’.

tac, maybe you could scratch-build one, or adapt something to stand in for it.

Maybe, but it seems a shame to put my poor efforts on a $500 model…

I probably have one somewhere, I will see if i can find it

jonathan

tac, you might be surprised.

Jon and all - thanks for the cheer-upment, much appreciated. Trust me, although I’m sure there are much worse things in the world than watching your hand-made, ultra-rare Sheridan van meet concrete at 50 kph, right now, I can’t rightly think of one.

@Jon - I’d already sent you an email, but having the IT maven in to fix a glitch meant that it didn’t go until AFTER you’d posted!

Great minds etc…

BTW, it STILL attracts comments, many of them good, on the get-together and open days we have here, espcially as I opted for the full interior kit as well. Shame there are no more from Mr Sheridan…I’d dearly love to lay my paws on the full-length version.

Best to all
