Large Scale Central

Hello LSC, So far on my Lakeland Railroad- Lots of Pics!

Hi LSC, I thought that I show you how my RR is taking shape. I am modelling 1:20.3, 45mm and some 70.64mm. Battery/ RC power. I live in NW England and I left High School a year ago, I go to college now. Anyway, here are some pictures: Lakeland Locomotive Yard- Raised and good for Live-Steam

With train:

Further down the line:

The Locomotive and freight cars are kit-bashed or scratch-built, the locomotive needs handrails. All the track in the photos is hand-layed, including a single-slip. I have taken inspiration from many garden railroads including; Jackson & Burke, Woodland Rly, RGS East, Raccoon Creek & Gully Rly, Tuscarora RR, Bob’s RR and many others. Thanks, Alec.

Welcome, layout looks great. I realy love the hand laid track. Thats one thing I want to do to my RR at some point. Hope to see more pictures of your progress.

Welcome, Alec.
It’s nice to see a garden railroader that isn’t retirement age
Your RR looks great and you’ve chosen some fine RR’s for your inspiration.
Ralph

Nice handlaid trackwork - the double slip is very nicely done.

Wow, impressive!

Does this mean Im not the youngest anymore?

I think your "anti-aging" device works about as well as your "cloaking" device :O Ralph

Welcome Alec,

I like it! Clever idea to freelance with strong proto leanings!

What are the ties (sleepers) made of?

Actually it's a single slip .... but you're right very nice track work!.

Welcome aboard… a great start on what looks to be a wonderful layout…

Welcome to the Forum Alec - from SW England.

You certainly have entered the hobby on a grand style - especially building your own trackwork. It seems that you have reasonable space and age to your advantage. lol

I run Bachmann Big Hauler 1:22.5 and Aristo-Craft 1:29 here on ready made track. Like many our side of the Atlantic space and age dictate what is achieved but at the end of the day the hobby should be fun and constructive as possible.

Like many here I will watch the progress.

Many thanks for the welcome and compliments.

The ties are made from hardwood, cedar and garden timber.

Alec.
