Back to the signature issue. I did find where to edit my signature thanks to Joe Z. However when I use the insert picture icon and paste the link noted below (without quotes), all I get is box with a x in it. What am I doing wrong?

Dan,

The link you gave above doesn’t want to insert, but the location below works. Right click on the picture below and copy the image location and use that for your signature picture.

Dan, Great to have you along for the ride.

BTW, I’m originally from Calif. Not even a state when the great war broke out. But when I lived in AL for 5 years, Because I wasn’t from one of the original 13 states ( AL, MS, GA, FL, LA,NC, TN etc) I was still a Yankee to the locals…

Frankly My Dear, I Don’t give a Da…

Dave, them southerners are still a bit upset over The War of Northern Aggression. I found out when I asked, down in Atlanta, where the statue to William Tecumseh Sherman is.

Thanks for the help Joe. As you can see, that worked great.

I think I’ll keep all the Yankee jokes to myself. Best I can tell, I’m quite outnumbered. I will keep an eye on this Rooster character, lol. I look forward to getting to know everyone better and helping each of you to get to know me also.

Dan

Sorry no Yankees allowed, then again I’m not wild about the Braves either, or the Royals…

Glad it worked for you now and glad to help. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Welcome aboard !

I myself run both 1:20 and 1:29 on the same track.

My layout is simple , my rolling stock will give people the idea what I’m running … sadly… It’s usually me …but … It’s my railroad and I can run what I want!

It’s all about having fun!

Welcome from me and the boys over here in yUK [mostly], Ontario Canada [quite a lot] and Oregon [at least once a year, sometimes twice].

If it runs on 45mm track, then I run it - live steam, electric track-power/battery or even push it around, I don’t care. I’m the ‘other end’ of the longest short line on the planet - Richard Smith of the Pacific Coast Railroad lives in Port Orford - and I’m almost 6000 miles away with the logging operation.

Just put some track down and run something, OK?

Thanks Sean and tac. Although I do not currently have any track down, I do have a varied mix of engines and rolling stock. I also have about a 1000 feet of track stored in the garage. It is a mix of brass and aluminum. I will us battery/RC in all my engines. I am currently waiting on an Airwire G3 and Phoenix P8 board for my shay. My biggest hold up to laying track is my own indecision. I really do not want to put the track on the ground because I am getting to old to crawl around on my knees. But I also want the garden part of garden railroading. I have studied Richard Smith’s method for raised roadbed and will probably use that with a few minor changes. Lots of decisions.

Hello from SE alabama Geneva county It will be nice to have 3 of us in a 90 mile range.

Check out Kens build:

Good luck!

@Wayne Daleville AL, Lived there for a bit before moving to Ozark, and then to Enterprise. Stationed at Ft.Rucker for 5 yrs. I really miss flying and Boiled Peanuts on the side of the road. Water moccasins, gators, and skeeters Nope.

Welcome Aboard, Hang on for a wild ride.

Welcome Wayne. Glad to have a fellow southerner. I haven’t been around here long, but all these Yankees seem to be good folk, very helpful, and darn good modelers. Hope to see you around here a lot.

Sean: I have looked at Kens build of his raised roadbed with great interest. I will probably take Ken and Richard Smith’s methods, throw in a few ideas of mine and start putting down track. I am also toying with the idea of building raised planters using concrete blocks and stone. Neither option is cheap, but nothing in this hobby is cheap. I’ll start bouncing ideas off everyone once I get done with the challenge project.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks Ray. I follow all your builds with great amazement. Thanks for sharing them.
