Really? I walk around proudly displaying the title of King Butt Modeler. The guy who “crowned” me as King Butt Modeler, had holes drilled into his head. We have a guy laser cutting a museum quality model, so he can plop it outside and let critters live in it. We have a guy who is a birdbrain…um…sorry, a rooster personage. We have a human spell/grammar checker, and the craziest of all is the guy who keep trying to control this asylum, without ending up in a canvas jacket that buckles around the back.

OF course! I did as well. My mom, aunt, and grandmother drove that train.
Welcome John.
Welcome to both newcomers!

Welcome, John. You would be most welcome at TrainOps. Details are up in the event calendar.
Welcome, John and to a great bunch of trains guys on here. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Aloha John!
While not likely you get out this direction I look forward to seeing the grand plan. I became a member here years ago and now back so hope to interact with others more frequently.
My own interest is also “down east” and I’ve been working on bashing up some two-footers to work around Green Lake (yeah, the lawn).

Ha! I can’t even make it farther than New York, let alone leave the continent! Unfortunately my railroad is very around-the-edges. So, it’s quite linear.

Thank you very much, Bob. It would be nice to meet some other modelers in the area. I’ll do my best!
Glad to have you aboard, John. Lots of good folks here and we all can be bribed like pastries.
Like pastries, and beer!

Absolutely, Sean. But someone other than me will have to make them.
HHmm there has to be a class or video ( how to bake pastry in a pizza oven )…But I want to know …how do you know how to make a pizza in that oven ?..You could try…
I think pastries would need a different floor. A pie has a strong hand tossed (hopefully) crust that rides on corn meal …
Once you add the cookie sheet (pan) it’s closer to another oven and the thrill is gone…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
It can be done, but, as John says, with the sheet pan in there it’s not much different than a conventional oven in terms of a final product.
I’m planning to build a wood-fired oven at home and hope to bake all kinds of things in it! Breads, pizza, pita, pastries, veggies…
I’m not sure it would be worth the trouble to fire the WFO just for pastries unless you were baking a large number of them. The WFO is most efficient when cooking various foods over several days, i.e. pizza on Friday night, roast on Saturday, bread on Sunday, pastries, cookies, etc on monday.
