Heavyweight clerestory to harriman roof?

The roof comes off the heavyweights in a single molded piece. Shwamut charges $50 and you send them the roof. They put some kind of skin over it–that’s how it was described.

I got some 2 wheel trucks for it in a trade with another LS-er. Expecting UPS to deliver the coach today or tomorrow

Well I pretty much finished the baggage car. It needs some people in it, but otherwise it’s done. Well I ought to renumber it…

I’m still waiting on a heavyweight coach to complete the train. The curve of the roof is not right, but I can live with it. if I ever find a surplus clerestory roof, I’ll do it again. I added a wooden floor and made a bench, from coffee stirrers and scrap cedar. There’s a clock on there and some weak representations of film cans, stacked and ready to go. I’ll put a couple people in there and it will look better

I added lights–there’s white lights over the table, and in the other end there’s a red light, to suggest a darkroom. Of course, if it was really a darkroom, you would not be seeing a red light through the window. But I just wanted to suggest the mobile film lab on the Lindbergh train

Mike,

That came out great and especially with the lights. I have to say also that I really like your Pennsy Atlantic.

Nice work Mike. That ought to be a conversation starter for you.

Good job, Mike.

Cool!

Thank you all. Next is to modify the coach a little. It’s a mystery why Lionel let that Atlantic lapse. It’s a great model–scaled really well for most layouts, it has a mainline look without requiring really huge curves. It’s not 1:32, or even 1:29. it’s some scale known only to lionel, I think. But it’s overall a very pleasing model, and with a few tweaks–well, more than a few, really–it’s an excellent loco. I’ve been gradually adding details to it and making it a bit more accurate.

Aristocraft ought to buy the molds and tooling from lionel. If they put upgraded the drive system lionel used, they’d sell a lot of them

I do like completed interiors, however I am a poor example of completing them. Nice representation.

I’ve been doing a little research, and I think the roof is actually right. In the only picture of the actual lindbergh consist I could find, you can see the roof of the baggage car clearly:
