Heartening tale

Our SD40 developed flat spots on its trailing pair of wheels, so I took the opportunity to order a new wheel set from NWSL, slightly larger than the original and without grooves for trakkies. When the package came, this is what it held:

I sent off this photo in an eMail, but got no response. Eventually, I rang. Fred Martin, the owner, came on the phone. The man sounded hassled - I doubt I’m his only customer. Fred offered to fix the problem if I sent the six incorrect wheels back. I did what he suggested. It took a few weeks, but eventually I got an eMail apologising for the inconvenience and saying the correct wheels were in the mail. I also got a credit for the postage I’d paid to return the wheels to the USA. Once the package comes, I’ll fit the 12 wheels to the SD40. If they do the job I expect, I’ll use my credit and buy a couple more wheels sets from NWSL. If there’s a problem, I’m confident Fred will fix it. After reading Ray’s recent post about the problems he was having with auto mechanics and insurance salesmen, I thought it might be useful to post something that stands in stark contrast to Ray’s experience. We all know it’s not a perfect world. I find it heartening to come across someone who fixes his screw-ups instead of ducking and weaving.

OK, Dave, I guess I gotta get new glasses. What’s wrong?

No stubs.
The SD-40 has 4 stubbed wheels and two non-stubbed per truck.
