Have pix files in Freight Shed, can't load to forum

I am trying to upload pictures on the track blower I have just test run, but it isn’t happening. I have the pix in the Freight Shed files, and I can scroll over them and they show what the file is, I just can’t get them in my posts.
Help please.

Noel

I don’t have a freight shed, so I’m not certain on the proper procedure. To do this I navigated to your ForumFiles folder, displayed the pic, then copied the URL and pasted it here…

Nice blower

That’s quite a do-hickey. Is this a functional prototype, or a one-off finished product? What kind of wind speed can you get of that thing?

Hi Steve,
It’s a one of a kind Rube Goldberg item. Actually built around the blower (a 12 volt bilge blower) I got the speed regulator in Hong Kong for $18 so that I wouldn’t blow the ballast away, and it is working very well. I had the freight car bottom from when I converted to the lowered car bottoms. I made the tube at the end of the blower out of card stock and TAP Plastics ABS plastic, it is wrapped with good old duct tape. I need to dress it up a bit so that the spst switch and the potentiometer look neater. I also added a 4 amp fuse in the circuit. If I allow the speed to go full, it will move my ballast. The car is quite heavy, so I also have ball bearing wheel sets. The little Kalamazoo Donkey had no problem pushing it around the layout. With my brief trials, I think that I will make the next outlet tube out of flexible plastic, as it will hold up better in wet weather, and I would make the end of the tub wider (this will be a winter project). I use it in conjunction with Bill’s RailSweeper.

Are you trying to upload from a Mac? It took some experiment and Rube Goldberg would be proud but after tinkering I found a way that is working.
1. Go to the home page and click on Freight Sheds even if you don’t have one.
2. Sign on using your sign in for LSC.
3. Have your edited and resized picture on your desktop.
4. When you go to browse in LSC you should be able to look under desktop and find the picture.
5. Open it and click on upload and a copy should show up in LSC.
6. Click on that and it should open in a url and cut and paste that address in the forum note.
7. This is working for me. It sounds like more work than it is. If it’s “grumpy” send me an email and we’ll figure it out.
8. DON’T try to use My Files directly from a note to the list. It won’t work, at least it doesn’t for me.

Hi Doug,
Thank you. I’m going to try this. I kinda got spoiled with the cut and paste routine. It would be nice if they get around to doing this for the MAC.

One more addition. When you go back into that “Freight Shed” you will only see Forum Files but no picture list. Don’t panic, just double-click on the forum files and the list will come up.
