Have a great Independence Day

Have a great Independence Day all American Forum Members - not forgetting those not American who also like to join in the Celebration.

Enjoy whatever festivities you may attend. If, like me your just at home, make it a good train day!

Thanks Alan, me I will be working. Busiest weekend of the year for me.

Happy 4th of July to everyone. It will be hot as hell here, as it will be in most areas
around the country. No trains today, as the weeds took over while I was away.
I’m waiting for some rain before I can attack the weeds. I see Preen in my future
But we’ll be grilling, swimming and watching the fireworks tonight
Ralph

Thank you Alan. Glad to know that most of Her Highness’ subjects have forgiven us

Today’s plan is to take a road-trip to experience one of the Connecticut River Ferries at Hadlyme before state budget cuts close it forever. We might also try and chase one of the steam trains out of Essex. Still lots of reminders of the “old country” her in New England !!

Fly your FLAG, enjoy your freedom, give thanks for all we have and give praise to our creator. Freedom is never free.

Ralph, I don’t get weeds taking over the ROW but I do find many plants and bushes soon encroach the ROW if not kept pruned or snipped. The worst offenders are those which drop, sap, resin or pollen on the rails. aaaagh!

I did get to run my Aristo trains later this afternoon and early evening. The AM was spent sawing dead limbs from bushes and trimming an overgrown hedge. Then from 2pm - 4.30 pm watched the Tour de France on TV. It was so appropriate that an American, Tyler Farrar, won the 3rd. stage especially on 4th. July.

Happy 4th to all that apply.
I’m really cool today setting in side playing my trains and strumming the strings.

That happens every day here..... Happy 4th guys :)

Spent the morning liberating weeds from the garden bed where my meager loop of track will be going soon. Hope to get the track down sometime this week. Spent the afternoon liberating the top parts of my in-laws lawn from the bottom parts thereby presenting an even look to the masses of grasses. Went home, showered, and had barbeque for dinner. Then it was off to the local fireworks display. A good day and a nice way to end a long weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed!
