I ordered a CRE55470 Train Engineer System directly from AristoCraft last year. (16-NOV-06) After the “We’re having manuafacturer problems” excuses, I stopped hearing anything from them. Calling is useless as I just get a “Sorry, voice mail is full” message. (BTW - They were not having too many difficulties to cah my check on 05-DEC-06. . . )
Unless they have stopped maintaining their website as well, it showed them as being IN STOCK as of today. . .
They just arrived at Aristo last week and are now shipping to dealers.
There was a very long dry spell. I heard that one of the major RF components was discontinued requiring a re-design and re-tooling of the production. This is a hot item and I’m sure Aristo wouldn’t have delayed production if they had a choice.
I resorted to ‘slightly used’ on eBay and got a good deal last fall.
It will be interesting to see how the new design compares to the old ones in range and functionality.

I got a 55470 from SanVal/AnnaKrammer on ebay last month. The transmitter was not the on/off model even though otherwise it appeared to be NIB.

I’ve got one of the latest from Aristocraft that just arrived a couple weeks ago. But I have not had time to check it out yet.
