Hartland Motor Block measurements needed

(Apologies to those of you who read both fourms for the cross posting…)

Can anyone tell me the wheelbase and wheel diameter of the Hartland 4 wheel motor block, as used on the line car and the various interurbans? It’s not on Scottychaos’ chart of such things…

I bet you could call HLW and they’d tell you? that is if no one else comes off with an answer. I have a few Mack blocks but that is all.

For Parts and Service, Please contact our Parts and Service Department at: 402-571-2933 or fax. 402-573-7274.
Call for hours.

Calling Hartland is a challenge. They’re only open a couple days a week during certain hours. I sent an e-mail and phone message several days ago, and got an answer last night as to price and sideframes, etc… but forgot to ask dimensions. They’ll be available again for an order after Dec. 7 … so I was hoping between now and then I could get someone here to tell me.

I have a new thing coming and have to find it some wheels!

Wheels are 1 1/8 " overall diameter

Axle center to axle center is 2 7/16’s.

Do you need anything else?

Huzzah! Thanks Ric.

I think I’m good … I’m working on trucks for a locomotive project… if these will work, it’ll be nice to have the sideframes included.

Otherwise, may end up having to go with the Aristo one, or something.

Hmmm. Assuming that’s the wheel diameter at the tread, the wheels may be a bit too small…

In the next couple of months, I may have two new locomotives no one’s ever seen before. Was it this forum where folks thought it might be neat to have a steeplecab?

Stay tuned…

Matt,

That is wheel diameter to the outside edge of the flange (overall diameter).

Don't know that. Do know that as an electric traction fan I think it would be neat to have a steeplecab.

I don’t like ANYTHING new, New sucks!

just kiddin

Ric: Thanks. Yeah, that’s definately too small… will find something bigger.

Mr. Wood: Check your email.

Mr. Nelson: Don’t you have a couple of tons of rock to shovel someplace?

LGB had big wheel motor blocks, if you can find one.
