Hartland Army set.....

Anyone interested in a Hartland army train set…small centre cab, two four wheeled flats with guns, and caboose…in box with track and power pack.

Box is original, but was out shortly in light rain…still very much intact, and durable.

Offers welcome…must include shipping from Ottawa, or Ogdensburg NY…

I dunno, Whaddaya thinking $ Fred?

MSRP new is $100

If the price, new, was only $100, then I guess, with the slight damage to the outer part of the box, would make it worth around $50-$60, to someone interested…plus whatever it would cost to ship it…

Fred

I’ll take it Fred, $60 + shipping to USA zip 91103, message sent, send me your address

I’m sorry to have to announce that the actual owner of the train set, in hearing that it was not worth more than $130 new, after he paid at least $200 for it, does not want to sell it.

I’m sorry to have been part of this, and will never get involved in selling anything for someone who won’t take the time to simply Google for the information themselves.

My apologies to everyone.

No problem Fred, I run into this all the time, it’s like the little Lionel loco that turns up on Ebay every now and then, cab is broken, missing siderods, doesnt run, but the guy still wants $100 because it’s G scale and therefore it must be worth its weight in platinum (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Fred, no good dead goes unpunished. At least your heart was in the right place. He paid $200 for a $100 MSRP set. Oh my! I bet he feels taken.

What I dont understand is then why did he want to sell it? To make room for stuff and get rid of it? or simply to make money off of it? i’m thinking the latter. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Actually, the fellow meant well. He wanted to donate at least close to $200 to the OVGRS, just as a gesture of good will, but felt that if the set wasn’t worth much, he was better off keeping it, and using the little centre cab for a project he may do. His problem is, that he refuses to upgrade from the old dial-up system on his computer, so it takes hours to even attempt any in depth research. I was just trying to help him to do a good deed…he is a good guy…and not looking at gouging anyone.

Fred, I didn’t think he was. And i have some stuff like that. My thinking is; If its not worth much, then its no loss if I cut it up and use the parts for…

Gee, I thought I was the last person in the civilized world to make the switch from dial up to something a bit faster.

I’d offer more but I kinda offered my peak, maybe someone else if they know it was for charity.

Fred talk him into a newer smartphone, on mine I can do pretty much everything I used to use the desktop for regarding internet searches. That way he can be better connected without having to upgrade the home phone line, it’s all on the providers network.
