Large Scale Central

Hard to Believe

I was going through pictures of my RR when I first started it almost 1 1/2 years now. Its hard to believe how much has changed since I first started laying tracks. I would never had thought it would look like it does today. Thats only 1 1/2 years ago.

The expansion done this past Spring

Time flies when you’re havin fun, don’t it?..

Tell me about it :open_mouth:

A year ago I was happily working on my 10’ x 20’ indoor layout

This year I had to dismantle it all, consolidate my collection and restart all over again with a much reduced portable layout

Add to that Shawn’s growing collection of my cast-off rolling stock

I suspect he may have even more of it before years end  :stuck_out_tongue:

Wait until 4 years passes… September 2005:

Later, K

It always seems to take so long, when your working on it… But, when you have a chance to relax and think about it, it seems like things are flying by, and you amazed by the progress…

It’s always great fun to look back… Unfortunately, I can’t place an exact year on this photo, but I’ll guess it’s about 4+ years ago, Spring of 2005 when the idea to expand with a Wye was born…

Walk Landing Trans-Load, the Wye and the crossing at Walk Junction - FF: Click to Enlarge - IE: Right Click Photo and select Open Link in New Window to Enlarge As I was doing some clean-up in preparation for my brothers first visit to our home this weekend, I was thinking I’d tell him that our house is a work-in-progress, I’m just not sure we have made any progress  Looking back makes you realize how much we have accomplished.

Its neat seeing what everyones layout looked like in the begining stages. If someone shoed you a picture of your layout before you started it you would say or at least I would have said there is no way I can do that.

I love it great to see the growth of everyones layout.
Dave

Here is when I started in Spring 2008. Ralph

Imagine, if you will, a raised platform 15" wide, with a double track on it. With light-toned ballast. Twenty-four feet in diameter. Three ‘bridges-like’ structures, one of which is a lift-off so we can get to the wash-line.

It totally fills our backyard, except for my loading shed in the corner.

That’s it.

No images necessary.

It’s really nice to see the wondrous layouts that other folks have, though.

Its amazing to think that all the work we put into our layouts and it takes only a few hours to rip it all up.

Ray. What a difference from when you started. I bet your back hurts just looking at that. LOL

My 7/8’s layout had the biggest change in a year (small layouts are nice that way)-
