Happy New Year.. any train resolutions out there?

Happy New Year to All

So with the new year apon us what have you planned to accomplish with your trains in the coming year?

On my list of to do resolutions is to…
1 finish some rolling stock builds.
2 Build a rotary plow
3 widen some tight curves on the layout to accomodate a new larer engine.
4 Get some articles into GR magazine
5 Build a few more structures.

How about you?

Well Todd,
hopefully the weather will be kind to allow train running i.e. not too much rain and not too cold during the winter time. Last year (2011), overall, wasn’t too bad here at all.

I noted in an earlier post I mentioned that a one room American style schoolroom was on the ‘to build’ list and I really need to make the area, by Tomahawk Tunnel more interesting. It looks bare since I moved the freight shed to another part of the pike. As I built three large structures last year (2011) - grain elevator, freight shed and covered bridge there is not much space available for more structures. Maybe small accessories, such as a platform dock, a gantry with bucket for loading coal into tenders and a few more bits and pieces such as packing crates etc. will be something I can do.

I don’t anticipate very much more rolling stock - a WM boxcar is to be ordered on Tuesday and I have a couple of ng tank cars which another large scaler wants. I would like to build some sort of grade crossing equipment but as I am clumsy these days and I have dogs that chase cats I don’t think arms would survive long. Cross bucks might.

Happy New Year
With this mild weather I was able to run some trains today. Hard to believe 52 degrees in Jan.
What do I plan to accomplish?

  • finish my lean-to (non train related)
  • start working on a new plow car
  • Start building a small live steam engine ( http://www.panyo.com/project/index.htm )
  • Work on making more figures so I can get better at.

Happy New Years all, And may your RR be trouble free this year…

Hey guys it will be 80degrees here today :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont make resolutions. But I will keep moving forward with the layout continue consolidating my roster and hopefully display at this years BTS &SWGRS.

-3ºC when we went for our walk.

My project list is a mile long and like Vic I just keep plugging along (no, that is not the same as plodding!). :stuck_out_tongue:

Prolly should get the LGB 2-4-0 PRR passenger starter set relettered for the Brandywine & Gondor RR. Once the figures for The Hobbit movie hit the market, I’ll be better inspired. But I’ll resolve to look into the task. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have fun,
