Shalom!
For those who still are able to celebrate Christ in Christmas and still be politically correct, then a very Merry Christmas. For those unable to celebrate Christ due political correctness, then a very Merry Festive Shopping Season. I do not understand political correctness, non-christians are able to celebrate their faith, whereas society (or is it only minorities within) dictates that Christmas (should really be called the ‘Festive Season’ to be politically correct) is not a religous festival.
Tim thats why Festivus was created. Festivus, for the restof’us.
Vic,
if the Passover, or Hannukkah, were reduced simply to symbolic trips to the local shopping centre then those who practice the Jewish religion would be protesting to the highest levels of government. If Ramadan or the Hadj were treated merely as symbolic shopping trips, then Muslims worldwide would call for a Jihad, as like the Jewish religion, these religious observances are crucial to their faith. Taking Christ out of Christmas is the same as removing the prophet Mohammed from the Hadj. It is not possible and yet the west likes to commercialise and adapt a religious festival to suit a commercial gain, plus distance themselves from any religious connotation to keep the supposed minorities happy and be politically correct.
